Dan Alcorn Passes Away

The Greater Napanee Soccer Club is saddened by the news of the passing of Dan Alcorn. Dan passed away on Monday evening Aug.06th after a recurring battle with Leukemia. Dan was a dedicated coach with a passion for the game. Dan began coaching for the Greater Napanee S.C. in 2006 as a house league coach. In 2007 Dan took over the 94/95 boys rep team and has moved up through the years with this team. In fact the first year Dan coached this team he and his assistant coach Tim Cross lead this team to victory in the local Ambassador cup winning their age division that year. As I attended the U18 boy’s game on Tuesday evening it was very clear that Dan was much then a coach to these boys. The entire team came out to support each other in this difficult time. In a show of support the boys each wore armbands with Dan initials.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Visitation will be Thursday Aug 16th 1-4 and 7-9 at the Wartman Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Evangel Temple (320 Bridge St W) Friday Aug 17 at 11:00 am.

Memorial donations can be made to Kayaking for Cancer.

Dan, you will be truly missed.
